It was time for the teachers to learn, as they attended a two-day teacher training workshop to better engage and enrich their students. The first day covered sessions on assessment criteria, bringing in new techniques to learning, lesson planning and evaluating the level of the child. The teachers also worked in pairs to craft a lesson plan. On the second day, the teachers returned for another enriching day. Covering sessions on micro teaching, the day ended on a high note, with the teachers breaking into groups and each planning and implementing a fifteen – minute, micro – teaching lesson with peer feedback.

A great forum bringing together teacher-learners from different institutions to validate current teaching methodologies and to equip oneself with new techniques of teaching. The two-day session led by Paul Debenhams took the teachers through the Cambridge way of teaching and learning. On the first day, teachers were taken through the Cambridge framework, teaching ideas and the importance of active learning. The second day had a session of micro-teaching, where the teachers made lesson plans and activities for 15 minutes. It was enlightening to see the different teaching methods and to learn from fellow peers.
