KC High Grade 1 students (Cool Cats) recently visited the Santhe in Kalakshetra to understand the distinct and unique cultures of different states in India. Fabrics and handicrafts from Rajasthan, Tamilnadu, West Bengal, and Gujarat were a real treat to the eyes. Learners interacted with the shopkeepers to know about their native state and the language spoken in that state.
Since most of the shopkeepers in Santhe communicated in Hindi, some learners realized the importance of national language of India. They also saw how cassettes, fabrics, and natural things like leaves were reused to make lights, hangings and other decorations. They also witnessed the Rajasthani folk music session which left the learners enthralled and excited.
