For the past two years, the KC High Biology department has been conducting cell expos as an extension activity to expand the learning curve.
Grade VI students learnt about cells and different organelles and their functions etc. We have conducted two cell expos till now, where the learners prepared microscope slides with plant samples (stem, root, leaves, sporangia, etc) and showed the arrangement of cells as well as helped the children from other grade levels to identify different types of cells.
In the second cell expo (which was done by the present grade VI batch), they prepared magnified cell models with material mirroring like cells and the organelles. They also prepared slime in the lab to be used as cytoplasm.
